Cloud software provider Workday has introduced the Built on Workday initiative, designed to help ISV and software development partners market and sell applications and software add-ons for the Workday platform. This program aims to broaden Workday's engagement with partners beyond traditional systems integration and service providers, including more development and go-to-market collaborators. According to Matthew Brandt, Workday's SVP of Global Partners, the initiative supports Workday's transition from a core applications provider to a platform provider, necessitating a robust global partner network.
Founded in 2005, Workday serves over 10,000 organizations and 65 million users with its cloud-based HR software. With revenue of $7.3 billion in 2023, it competes with industry giants like SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft. The new program will initially be available to select early adopter partners, expanding throughout 2024. It aims to simplify the discovery and purchase of Workday extension products and allows partners to innovate and distribute their applications globally via the Workday Marketplace, providing substantial go-to-market support.
