Stripe has launched its new flagship office in Toronto, signaling a stronger commitment to the Canadian market. Toronto, now the fourth-largest tech talent hub in North America, is a key growth area for Stripe. The company supports fast-growing startups like Workleap and Thinkific, as well as major enterprises such as Shopify, Enercare, FreshBooks, and SkipTheDishes.
Between 2021 and 2023, payment volume from Canadian businesses on Stripe increased by over 50%. This growth is driven by thousands of new Canadian companies joining Stripe daily, and long-term users like Shopify expanding their business models with Stripe’s tools. Recently, Stripe introduced several innovations to aid Canadian businesses, including global expansion capabilities with Stripe Payments, contactless in-person payments via Tap to Pay on iPhone, and Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology.
Stripe is also enhancing billing capabilities with usage-based models through Stripe Billing. The new Toronto office at 1 University Avenue will see the company recruiting for roles in engineering, product management, sales, and design, with plans for further expansion.
