Meta has introduced NotebookLlama, an AI tool inspired by Google’s NotebookLM, designed to create podcast-style summaries from text files. Utilizing Meta's Llama models, NotebookLlama first converts text files, like PDFs or blog posts, into transcripts. It then adds dramatization and interruptions before processing the text through open text-to-speech models. While current outputs have a notably robotic sound and occasional overlap in dialogue, Meta researchers believe improvements can be made with more advanced speech models. They suggest that incorporating dual-agent debates could enhance podcast outline creation.
Despite these efforts, AI-generated podcasts, including those from NotebookLM, continue to grapple with "hallucination" issues, where generated content may include inaccuracies or fabrications.
