Amazon adds PayPal to Buy with Prime program

Amazon adds PayPal to Buy with Prime program

Amazon's Buy with Prime program, which allows Prime members to purchase items from third-party stores and check out using their Amazon account, has now integrated PayPal as a payment option. Starting next year, Prime members can link their Amazon and PayPal accounts to automatically apply Prime benefits when using PayPal.

Launched in April 2022, Buy with Prime requires merchants to store inventory at Amazon warehouses and handles fulfillment for them. While Amazon reports rapid growth with notable brands like Dollar Shave Club and IZOD joining, some sources argue that the program still faces challenges, particularly the need for merchants to send inventory to Amazon.

In addition to the PayPal integration, Amazon announced updates like real-time delivery estimates in TikTok ads for Buy with Prime merchants and the ability for customers to buy items with and without Prime benefits in a single checkout on Shopify stores.
