Viva.com and Alipay+ expand partnership to improve payment solutions for European merchants

Viva.com, Europe’s pioneering payment acquirer, has extended its strategic partnership with Alipay+ to enable European merchants to accept payments from 15 e-wallets. This collaboration simplifies payments for international tourists, particularly from Asia, who can now use their preferred e-wallets seamlessly across Europe. Through this partnership, Viva.com merchants in various sectors—such as travel, retail, hospitality, and transportation—can access over 40 payment methods via Viva.com’s Tap on Any Device technology, which transforms any device into a payment terminal supporting contactless, chip & PIN, and QR code payments.

The Alipay+ integration with Viva.com’s platform is live in all 24 European markets where Viva.com operates, benefiting existing merchants that accept Alipay (Chinese mainland) who are now automatically eligible for Alipay+. The partnership supports Alipay+ in serving 1.5 billion users worldwide, connecting to over 90 million merchants across 66 global markets. This development aims to enhance the payment experience for international tourists and expand the reach of European merchants during peak travel times, such as the Golden Week in October.
