Opera launches redesigned browser for iOS

Opera has launched its redesigned Opera One browser for iOS after weeks of beta testing. The new version features a bottom search bar, quick search suggestions, and integration with the Aria AI assistant. Users can choose between different navigation styles or swipe down to access the search bar.

The browser now offers its own autocomplete options, hides the top and bottom bars for a full-screen view when scrolling, and matches the top status bar color to the site's theme. It also introduces a new carousel view for personalized news, live scores, and product tips. Aria, Opera's AI assistant, now supports voice input and image generation.

Since 2020, the Opera browser has been downloaded over 50 million times on iOS, but its growth has slowed recently. However, due to new EU regulations requiring a browser choice screen, downloads surged by 122% in Q2 2024.
